"Festus", as he was called by so many who knew him throughout the years, passed away in January 2009. We had acquired a partnership in Plenty Dividend, which we shared with Jerry Jeppson from Crowheart, WY. Festus was a full brother to Plenty Try and was a very massive blue roan stallion standing right at 16 hands and over 1300 lbs. He was a true work horse in his day, ranched, competed and then would be turned out with the mares at night and rounded up the next morning to work again. When we purchased him, he was a very well behaved and polite older gentleman and still riding.
A large percentage of our broodmares are in foal to Smokin Redbone. Redbone is a Dun Roan grandson of Hancocks Blue Boy (Blue Roan) and out of a Seven S Gunsmoke Mare (Dun). He has an incredible disposition, and very, very good bone and muscle. We can always tell which foals are Redbones because they are so muscular, big boned and fearless. Redbone was foaled here at MA Quarter Horses, he is our baby boy and is a huge part of our program. We should have many nice babies to choose from that are sired by Redbone.
We will have many nice foals that are sired by Wily Tuko. "Tuko" is an own son of Wilywood and out of a Mr Flintrock mare. He is also registered with the FQHR. He is a gorgeous, shimmering, dun stallion and the sons and daughters out of Wilywood are proven winners. Tuko throws very nice, athletic foals that will definitely have the ability to compete.
